As recommended in Lake Oswego's Transportation Management Plan for Downtown Neighborhoods (May, 2006, prepared by DKS Associates), a pedestrian path is currently being designed for installation on the northerly side of E Avenue. A stakeholder's meeting was previously held at the library on March 12, 2009 to discuss a preliminary design for the pathway. At this time, the project is in the early planning stages and the City is trying to secure construction funding.
As part of the design process, the City of Lake Oswego would like to discuss the planned pathway design and potential impacts to adjacent properties. If requested, a meeting with property owners with a frontage on the north side of E Avenue can be scheduled. A close-up of the block adjacent to your property is enclosed. The proposed pathway is 5' wide with low plantings between the pathway and the existing roadway. A surface for the pathway has not been determined at this time, but the City is considered compacted gravel or asphalt.
Please contact Jerry Knippel to discuss other improvements specific to your parcel, 503-534-5680 or gKnippel@ci.oswego.or.us. Please expect a follow-up phone call if we have not received your feedback by April 30th.
Thank you for your support of this project.
